COVID-19 – Our Support

COVID-19 ImageSince our pubs closed their doors on March 20, we have remained fully committed to supporting our publicans during these unprecedented times.

We immediately implemented the following:

  • Deferral of rent and ancillary charges until further notice
  • Suspended the collection of all outstanding debt and associated charges
  • Provided guidance on how to temporarily close their pub/s and how to obtain Government grants to assist with fixed costs such as rent and other financial assistance.
  • Set up dedicated Coronavirus pages on our Publican Channel with advice and guidance for our publicans here. (log in required)
These support policies were focused on alleviating financial pressures during lockdown in order that our publicans can emerge from this crisis as fully prepared as possible and ready to re-commence trading.

We then went a step further and introduced a range of additional support packages which related to the three-month period from April to June 2020.

We also confirmed that the price rises due from 18th May on tied products delivered to pubs were postponed until further notice.

The latest provision, in light of new Government secure guidance and confirmation that all pubs in England will be able to reopen from 4th July, includes rent credit equivalent to 75% for July and 50% for August for all tied publicans on substantive agreements.

In addition, such credits have also been applied to Tie Release Fees and Fixtures & Fittings rental charges and to assist with future cashflow over the next 12 months all rent invoices will be produced weekly instead of monthly or quarterly.

The company is also using its scale as a managed house operator to offer its publicans some significant non-contractual discounts on wines, spirits and minerals for a promotional period.

We remain committed to assisting our publicans during these unprecedented times and we will continue to review and evolve that support to enable our pubs to compete successfully in their chosen market.

If you need to speak to a member of the team please send an email to Enquiries at enquiries@eigroupplc.com who will attempt to deal with your request as soon as possible.

Stay safe and we look forward to opening our doors again very soon.
